Chew Valley Lake is a reservoir in the heart of the lush Chew Valley, 12 miles south of Bristol, making it a perfect escape from the city for a scenic countryside walk on good paths. Part of Bristol Water, Chew Valley Lake is also an established wildlife haven and visited by many different species of wildfowl such as the Great Crested Grebe, Tufted Duck and Canada Geese.

This was in 2015 John and up until then I had only ever seen the lake from the sky, flying in and out of Bristol airport. I must visit again as it was beautiful.

Terrific shot Rosa, the light on the water is great. I particularly like the arc formed by the leading edge of the swan's wings and the light/shadows on the starboard wing contrasting very nicely with the light shining through the underside of the port wing. The lake sounds like a great place for the wildlife photographer.
