The Underpass.

The Underpass.
An underpass to the A303 near Wincanton that I am told was built especially for horses. The new road cut the lane off for walkers also, to the nearby village of Stoke Trister and footpaths when the much needed by-pass was contructed.
PiP - Through to the other side! The steps are much deeper and more shallow than they look. Ideal for horses.

Great pair of pictures Rosa. We had nice underpass below a roundabout at a major junction in Scarborough once. The 'experts' decided to close the underpass and roundabout and install traffic lights and pedestrian crossings. Result - Lots of unnecessary waiting for vehicles and pedestrians, plus more danger to the walking public;-((

Oh dear, don't mention 'experts' Doug. They have made three huge "improvements" in Yeovil recently....only for different problems to occur just up the roads to take their place! :((
