Love the caption !!!

I remember walking right to the end manyyyyyyyy years ago !

Walking to the end was the only option throughout the summer this year. Apparently it was suffering with piles,....or at least cracks on the pile caps. The trains stopped from early June and the work was scheduled to last for 12 weeks. It took a little longer, but they are now running again.
Walking the length of the pier is a real challenge when it is windy ;-)

Lol- that's a really loooong pier- and no amusement arcades in sight! HFF, Neil!
Polyrus has replied to Gudrun club
In its time the pier has had amusement arcades, but the place seems to have had more fires than my fireplace and many structures have been razed to the deck. Not all were replaced.

HFF to you too, Gudrun.

Polyrus has replied to Amazingstoker
Thank you. According to Wiki, there has been an electric railway there since Victorian times, except during the many fires and when the railway was too dilapidated between '78 and '86.

Thank you, Keith. According to Wiki, there is no longer pleasure pier anywhere. Not on this planet, at least.

If you found it Scott, you will have seen a couple of hundred people weighting the other end down. They were awaiting a boat.
