A fine salt-encrusted fence. Now you've made it famous, expect far greater crowds when you make your Friday visits, Neil. HFF.

I hope the fence now gets some attention, but not to the point of having a full restoration, or it will lose all its character.

I cheated a little with this, Keith. I was on the right side (in more way than one), of the boat most of us were going on and I poked my camera through the porthole in the Gents, as I realised my artistic license was valid in Essex. Please don't tell anyone!

I'm not familiar with the local tides. However, it would not take much of a swell in the sea for the water to be lapping over that deck.

Rusty, crusty, and in need of some repair but I like it just the way it is, - beautiful! Love the light on it showing it off in all its glory. You have done for me now Neil - I have visions of you balancing on the loo with your camera poking out of the porthole trying for the best angle! Magic! HFF to you and have a great weekend. - Oh and please remember to put the seat down!

Southend is my home town ..... The Pier is a sad state of it formal glory...... You will get corrosion with the salt water, & there is much of that there..... Great image you have taken.... Have a good week !!!
