Clouds, sea & sky - sunrise to sunset

Taken while the level crossing was closed to all traffic - rail & road - for maintenance work - but the clouds just carried on over!

That view shows the nearest point that we can reach the sea from our house.

These curious little clouds appear in a series of shots and are too slow moving to be birds and indeed are obviously too far away for them to be that. They do move over the sequence and are not reflections within the camera lenses. I guess they are the final manifestation of a jet plane contrail, but if you have other ideas.....

The ferry is going astern leaving the port. Only in bad weather do they make the tricky manoeuvre of turning through 180 degrees in the harbour, to exit bow first.

A fairly low key sunset, but as I walked home after the Sun had gone below the horizon, the sky glowed pink!

Just a touch of orange as the Sun disappeared over the horizon.

Some peaceful pastel shades, above a grey and choppy sea.

The wispy bits at the front of the view are splashes, not plants!

A couple and their dog take a walk as the Sun goes down beyond the sea.

This set of four sunsets, taken from home, have not been Photoshopped, except to give them borders and captions. I came across them whilst trying to reduce the number of jpegs clogging up my hard drive. I was surprised to see the light on the upper side of the clouds in the first two views. The jet vapour trail is a bit of a shame, but they happen a lot here. The ones twenty minutes later were more traditional sunset views.
