I visited Otford for a sister's wedding. I went to boarding school on the outskirts in the late 1950s, but we weren't allowed out of the school, except for supervised walks in its immediate vicinity. In fact we only rarely were allowed into all the 88 acres of North Downs that it owned. This was the first time I had walked through the village.
