After a bad year.... ranging from Flicka having leg surgery to my husband having heart surgery(out of the blue!) to so very few butterflies.....
Jay is well... Flicka is well... and this afternoon......
A Queen (a first for me to see !) and 3 perfect Monarchs arrived as they pass through on migration !
EXPLORED !

I follow and report to and read Journey North(and South) and reports are a good showing up your way and a good breeding cycle in most places.
I am not on a main migration route(dont see them coming up from Mexico) but I do see them coming south. The routes change slightly with food availability. If they had come through here 2 weeks ago(very early) there are dead and dying plants from drought.. but we had some rain and the False Sunnies came back. West of me they have seem large roosts....
After the heartbreaking ice storm took so many as they left Mexico in the Spring... this Summer may just have been ok for them. When they get back to the forests in Mexico it will be known better.
You can follow it all here.
