Not even the new stuff lasts forever. This is the last leg of that old 69kV line west of Sioux Falls. It seems that not that long ago, we had a storm come through that took out several of the poles - seems that this 69kV line is not that high a priority after all... (it runs from the 69/23.9kV sub east to an emergency backup tie to East River Electric Coop's 69kV system).

That line must be pretty dead if they won't even use the correct height poles for replacements!

This line segment is now permanently idled and may well end up being removed when they get around to rebuilding the Canistota Jct - Salem 69kV line, as the tap wires between the NSP and East River 69kV lines are gone.
