Trees and Trails - Hayling Island, Hampshire
These trails run adjacent to a stretch of the coast near the old oyster beds which are behind the trees in the background. Nowadays the oyster beds are a protected area for breeding sea birds (mainly Terns). Just to the right (out of shot) is a more accessible path known as the Hayling Billy Trail, which follows the route of the old steam railway which used to run between Havant and Hayling Island. On the left, around 5 metres away is the sea.

A beautiful shot.
Hope you have a good new week.
Keith Burton club has replied to Rosalyn Hilborne clubHayling Island is connected to the mainland by a road bridge............in the summer months the queues to get on and off are horrendous, sometime stretching miles in each direction. Having the railway bridge replaced instead of demolishing it was a ridiculous decision. A steam railway running back and forth would have been a great tourist attraction as well as easing the road traffic. Of course it'll never happen :-(
