This one looks well fed Keith. I know they are considered a nuisance, but I can't help liking them and I also like your picture!

Have a great new week.

I like them too.........it's not their fault they're an invasive species. Glad you like the shot Rosa.

These are just so cute -even though the little blighters rip up our garden and bulbs and steal the bird food but I would not like to see them disappear. Great catch here. Eileen has given our visitors names as they have their own distinctive looks and habits. ie 'Finder' and 'Hide' :)

Cheers. Herb

I agree Herb............they're already digging holes in my lawn and burying food they've stolen from the bird feeders! Gotta love 'em though.

Thank you. They were introduced here from America I believe and are considered an invasive species. They carry a disease known as squirrel pox and also compete for food with our native (and smaller) Red Squirrels and as a result the vast majority of the Reds have been wiped out and exist only in a few small pockets in the UK. Of course, it's not their fault - they didn't ask to be introduced and are just doing what comes naturally.

Yes, they're well camouflaged amidst the leaves. It's easy to miss them until they move!

It does look like that doesn't it? It depends on which way the light catches them as well.
