Forest Walk (+ 2 PiPs)

Forest Walk (+ 2 PiPs)
Taken in Stansted Forest, Hampshire. Best viewed large, on black. Thank you.

The PiPs show a fallen Sweet Chestnut and a Parasol Mushroom (at it's "drumstick" stage before the Parasol forms).

Gudrun, xenophora, Jean Paul Capdeville, trester88 and 24 other people have particularly liked this photo

Beautiful mix of yellows and greens enhanced by the lovely soft light. The PiP's are great too. The chestnuts like little birds cosied together in their nest and the beautifully patterned upright mushroom.

Nice presentation Keith illustrating an enjoyable outing, excellent composition for the forest view with the two main trees in their rightful place in the scene and the two PIPs both fine specimens as nature intended.

The darker green leaves on the left really enhance the autumn colours in the background Keith. It looks such a beautiful lush forest.
I love the first PiP. The three chestnuts look so cosy in their little nest.
The drumstick stage of the mushroom is very interesting...prettier with its parasol :)

A superb set of pictures Keith.

Superb capture and lovely pips Keith (the chestnut is a worthy image on it's own) a great time of year to be in the woods weather permitting of course, everything outside of here is covered in sycamore seeds.

I have two huge Sycamores in my garden Roger, so I know exactly what you mean. One is for the chop soon as the trunk at the bottom is rotting away and it needs taking down before it falls over. The other will get some of the lower branches trimmed back. We have to wait until all the leaves have gone though, so the tree-surgeon can see what he's doing! It's going to cost an absolute fortune :-((

Both colours and composition are wonderful! You are lucky to have such landscapes to get away from it all. Kind regards, Anton.

Thank you very much Anton. You're quite right..........I live within a half hour drive of both beautiful countryside and the coast.

Nice woodland and fascinating PiPs.
I wish I could develop an eye for the little things. Perhaps I need better eyes, i did buy some Eye Wash with one of those blue eye baths and used it twice today, I wonder if I will see more clearly tomorrow.

I'm glad you like this one Colin...........one of my goals for this year was to take better photos of trees. I sometimes struggle with the composition and "seeing" the shot! I do like wandering about with my head down looking for the little stuff though. Sometimes you have to just stand or sit for a while to get your eye in.

My wife has a better eye than me.........and I often use her as a "spotter" when we're out together.
