Big Yellow Shelter

Big Yellow Shelter
One of the Victorian shelters on Southsea sea front in Hampshire. Looking slightly the worse for wear, but still performing a useful function.

Thomas Heizmann, Tanja - Loughcrew, Fred Fouarge, trester88 and 16 other people have particularly liked this photo

I think it looks reasonably OK, Keith. It's a great colour and folks seem to enjoy sitting in relative peace and quiet.

I know the British don't think they're companionable and chatty, but I've always found them so.

The gingerbread trim round the top looks in need of a bit of TLC but otherwise it looks bright and cheerful. I love the three people. You found an interesting trio. The bloke on the right has barricaded himself in with his rucksack and doesn't want to be interrupted. The girl has her feet up to discourage anyone joining her and is either lost in her phone or having a sulk or both, and the guy with the stick and the medals is just looking a bit miserable and wondering what the country is coming to.

Thank you Jean................I'm glad you like it and I love the way you've woven your own stories about the people in the shelter.

Not sure if it was this one, but I have definitely sat on a few of Southsea's beautiful Victorian shelters with a bag of fish and chips. I like Jean's story ;-))

A very nice shot and brings back amny happy memories for me!

A great capture, Keith, especially of the striking yellows. And the three people give us a lot to speculate about. I speculate that two of them are engrossed in the world they have defined for themselves on their phones, while the fellow with the cane is living in the actual world around him.

That's a bright shelter. I like it.
Maybe it would help brighten up a dull, grey cloudy day.

A classic scene Keith. Nice to see it in full use! Delightfully captured here in these splendid colours. Like the p.o.v. too. Well done.

Unfortunately smartphones are everywhere..............people don't even look around them when they go out in the real world, they seem to prefer a virtual one!

Glad you like this image Wilhelm...........thank you very much for commenting.

Beatiful victorian style...and the color is so friendly!
They are as far apart as possible ... if the shelter were even bigger, they would be further apart ... human behavior :)
I like the scene...and the friendly looking man in front :)

Thank you kind lady :-)

The view out to see from the shelter is lovely..............but they choose to look at their phones instead :-(
