Fine rural scene - but a fence in the water ? HFF, wish you a nice weekend, Keith !

The water is part of a seasonal river - it dries up every summertime! So the fence is only in the water for a fairly short time each year!

No floods Berny. The river is fed by the surrounding chalk downlands and will dry up when summer starts properly.

A great rural scene Keith. I suppose the fence is in the water to try and stop the sheep from going in the next field!? A rickety in places, but charming fence.
HFF and I wish you a very good weekend.

Thanks Rosa. The fence is also to keep dogs from going into the water after the ducks etc. Dogs are not allowed on the other side of the stream.

Wow, this got a lot of atttention.....................thank you all so much for all your comments and stars. Much appreciated.

The part of the River Lavant that flows through the gardens is what is known as a Winterbourne - a stream or river that driies up in the summer months.

I seem to have missed this one last week its a glorious scene with some classic fencing to keep all but the most determined swimming sheep on the other side
