Empty bench........H B M

Empty bench........H B M
I'm continuing to use the HBM theme to re-post some old photos from when I migrated across from Flickr which have had little or no attention on Ipernity.

This one was originally taken in August 2012 in Old Portsmouth, Hampshire. Best viewed large on black. Thanks for looking.

HBM everyone. I hope you have a good week :-)

Is this a three seater or for people with different leg lengths ? ( looks a clever design if it works for the latter)

Three people..........one bum per downward curve is the optimum Colin.

A nice wavy seat for each bottom Keith! Love all the textures and it looks great in black and white. Well worth showing again. Hope you have a good new week.

What a lovely wavy bench. Designed for comfort and giving the occupants space. The B&W treatment is perfect.

Ahhh...there are so many thoughts in my mind....how about skating over...lying there like bacon strips...slide over it....playing with toy cars... :)
Again it´s a great photo in this contrasted tone...I like that very much dear Keith!

I must admit to enjoying this one Keith. I do see many empty benches but do not take many. Maybe that may change now. - Great interesting one you have found here.

HBM have a great week. Herb

Thank you all so much. I'm pleased to like this one and it's good to see an older photo getting an airing!

As Portsmouth is a seaside city and these benches overlook the sea.........the benches represent the waves!

Stammen die Wellen vom Designer oder sind es Gebrauchsspuren? ;-)

Ha, ha..........definitely not signs of use. They're designed to represent the waves in the nearby sea.

Glad you like it Wilhelm...........and thanks for dropping by!

The wavy lines are a great contrast to all the rectangles. Mono brings out the structures very well.

Glad you like it Gudrun. Old Portsmouth has some great benches placed around the sea-front. I'll try and find another from the archives for this coming Monday!

The best benches I have ever seen are in Alesund, Norway (sadly no photos)- they are heated! Metal tubes with hot water running through, seat and back:-)

Very nice design for these benches and you've made a good choice with the b&w. Not comfy for overnighters, though, which must have been the reasoning.

Thank you Diane. The design is meant to represent the waves in the nearby sea. I hadn't considered the other possible reason, but you could be right!
