Happy Easter and spring to you all. :)

Every spring there is always an assortment of beautiful ducks that visit the pond near our home. This week we were visited by the rarely seen "Bufflehead" or "Rainbow duck" as I call them (above) because of their iridescent feathers. A pair of "Ringed Neck" ducks that have purple heads with gray and white bills (pic below) also had a good time at the pond this week.

Pretty good stability from that distance and at that high a zoom. Was that handheld or was your camera stabilization working overtime on this shot? I have that same lens and have not had good clarity at that distance without a tripod. I upgraded my body to, not the newest body in the line, but the next one up. The other one was getting expensive to repair. It has better stabilization so I will have to give it another try with the birds around a nearby pond.

Thanks, Pappy. I was leaning against a tree here. The G9 has amazing stabilization but still, it's really hard to get clear shots at this distance. The ducks are so far away.

Here's one of the best shots I've gotten with this lens at 300mm: www.ipernity.com/doc/k.e.s_kloset/49637402/in/album/385565 And this was taken through a window.

I've decided that this lens can do pretty well under the right circumstances. Where I live, low light is always the challenge. And I don't usually bother going over 800 ISO. It's just too noisy with this camera.
