It's not so bad. I have a doll room with some cabinets for display and the lighting is just kept low in that room. They can come out for a while if they feel claustrophobic. ;-)

She's a great one. You've placed her beautifully - where else would she wear that hat but on a Sunday (Saturday) stroll (maybe a horse race?).

I don't remember this outfit - but she looks like she is probably a bit old for my childhood. Is she from the 50's or really early 60's? I was more about mid 60's.

Do you have any in your collection from your childhood?

My Aunt made clothes for Barbies. I have a very few of those (they were given to my half-siblings, but I acquired a few from her estate). Such tiny stiches.

When my daughter was young and I was struggling with her wanting Barbie dolls (for feminist reasons), and told her it was because the dolls weren't an ideal I thought she should try for she looked at me and said, Mom, they aren't real! She got to play with them as much as she wanted after that...

This girl is from 1967. She's a TNT Barbie (Twist 'N Turn.) Her outfit is called "Plantation Belle" and it's one of Barbie's first fashions from 1959-61.)

I never had any Barbies as a child which might be why I have them now.

A gorgeous shot, Karen! The kind of setting that makes me wish I could live in that world. (Other than the one we're stuck with at times!) The background looks real, too. Is it miniature or fullsize? It's hard to tell because you've blended everything so well.

This backdrop is from a large book of beautiful gardens. I think this one is in Italy. It's 2 pages that are almost 12 inches tall.
