backlighting

backlighting
in Queensland, Australia

Little Dugald is a close relation of the Metrosideros Fiji Fire and Thomasi (New Zealand Christmas Bush). It flowers and flowers. Frequent flushes of bright red bottle brush like flowers. The little birds love them. It is a tough plant, growing to 1-2metres.

The red flowers are wonderful! I have never managed to see a tree in full bloom, they must look as if on fire.

A difficult shot to keep the red. The sun wants to blow out the highlights while the shade fights for recognition. Good work balancing the two.
