A nice modern painting! The colors work well together and there is just enough detail to keep it from being redious - the post and a couple of gleams that suggest parked cars, but even better, the thin diagonal lines, opposite on the two complete floors. Very well judged composition!

I took this about two years after I got interested in photography and can't say that I've progressed much since.

I really like this. The symmetry and regularity of the building with the shadowy reflections of a much more chaotic world and the way the overhead wires in that world disrupt the regularity. On a personal level, black, cream, red and grey(the stanchion) are my favourite go to clothes colours and gave the image immediate appeal

Thanks, Annemarie. I'm not really sure how I managed to get it, either. The photo came out of the camera with the perspective (or absence thereof) correct. I don't manage that with this type of shot very often.

It was the symmetry that drew me to this image..............but viewing large also brought out the extra details in the shot.

I never have the words to explain why I like some photos which are outside the norm .............but I think Jean (above) has nailed it in her comment!

Thanks, Keith. I have trouble with verbal explanations, too, but then photography is non-verbal. My bugbears are those writers about photography (like Berger) who assume that any photo can be reduced to text.

Thanks, Rainer. It's still unchanged nine years later, which in this town is a serious sign of architectural respect.
