Weegee made me do it

Weegee made me do it
I took this because it reminded me of this famous photograph of Weegee's:

Unless you put the poor moose there, it does have a real surreal quality that qualifies. I can see some poor mother ransacking the house to find it, with a tearful toddler in tow.

There was a group there selling teddy bears for charity, Bob (this was at the big outdoor motor, boat, and plane show in Wallaceburg, Ontario). They didn't see this one when they left. So there was more likely to have been a happy toddler with a free teddy bear.

Good. I was harking back to middle daughter trying to find a stuffed animal her young daughter had lost. They looked all over, including going back to a neighborhood park with a flashlight, all to no avail. So they bought her a new one like it, and our daughter secretly showed us that they now had three more in a drawer, out of sight.

After you shot the moose, I hope you turned yourself in to the police!

I didn't shoot him, Andy, but I did leave him there abandoned. A group that had been selling teddy bears for charity didn't see him there when they packed up.

GIven all the convictions he'd racked up during his life, I'm not surprised, George.

If you pick him up, dust him down, give him a cuddle and sit him on the window sill he could perhaps be re-incarnated.

I hope that's what happened to him, Jean. There were still people about, so maybe a child found him.

Très belle allusion, voire un hommage, à WEEGEE, quelque peu tombé dans l'oubli.....

Thanks, Robert. Everybody says photography is storytelling, and I say he was the greatest storyteller of them all.

The title meant nothing to me until I checked out the link and googled Weegee, whom I'd never heard of..............now I get it..!!!

Very cleverly referenced John. I hope you called an ambulance for the moose :-)

Thanks, Keith. As I mentioned to Robert, I think Weegee was the greatest photographic storyteller of all.

I callously left him/her there, Keith. I was hoping a parent or a kid would find it.

He literally was lost, kiiti. The people who had been selling bears for charity there missed him when they packed up.

Yours is much better and history has shown that it will be far more important for that kid . . .
