here the inclinations still to obey authority figures unquestioningly i find if i go into a shop with a smart suit and tie and have had my hair cut its caballero this and caballero that if i look like my normal self it can take ages to get served my point is that i agree with you in that many people dont need information they prefer to know where they stand and be told what to do im pleased to say its changing gradually im steadily refining my written prose style

So, when looking like your ordinary self, you are experiencing the plight of older females: invisibility. This is a researched and documented phenomenon! And, so is the experience you've had in what clothes you wear in public, but obviously, that is much more pronounced in Spain than the UK or US!

As an older female I appreciate being invisible a lot of the time. All I have to do is put on my poshest accent to become visible when required. If I do that clothes don't matter as I'm then an upper class eccentric. People, we're a weird lot. It's so important to be important.
