My hotel in Krakow. When I first saw it I thought "what am I getting into" since its exterior looked a little worn. My doubts were wrong, it was wonderful.

Overall I'd say my experiences were that the older and less 'modern' looking the hotel, the much more interesting it was to stay in. The few times I stayed in newer, fresher looking, hotels, the more cookie-cutter those seemed.
