Berlin Tiergarten composer monument (#2116)

Berlin Tiergarten composer monument (#2116)
A surprisingly ornate monument to Haydn, Mozart, and Beethoven, commissioned by Kaiser Wilhelm II and created from 1892-1904. The monument was extensively damaged during WWII and then, due to its location close to the Wall, largely neglected during the Cold War. It was disassembled and rebuilt, starting in 1996 and finished in 2007. The refinishing left intact bullet holes from the war, which can be seen in the large versions of the nearby pictures of the Mozart and Beethoven sides.

That's a really impressive monument. I'm glad they saved it.
