Buses Festival, Peterborough - 8 Aug 2021 (P1090410)

Sunday 8 August 2021 – The ‘Buses Festival’ rally held at the East of England Showground, Peterborough.

Two vehicles entered in the event operated by Thorne’s Independent Coaches of Hemingborough near Selby.

Left is KVY 789N is a Duple Dominant bodied Bedford YRQ that was new in May 1975 to Gorwood Coaches of East Cottingwith, a business taken over by Thornes Independent.

Right is OKP 980 preserved as Maidstone & District Motor Services CO252. It has Beadle bodywork mounted on Leyland mechanical running units taken from a pre-World War 2 Leyland TD7. The re-built vehicle entered service in this form with M&D in March 1952.
