Preserved former ECOC LKD229 (OVF 229) at the Norfolk Showground – 10 Sep 1989

Sunday 10 September 1989 – The flagship of the Eastern Transport Collection (formerly the Eastern Counties Omnibus Society) is preserved OVF 229, an Eastern Coachworks bodied Bristol LD5G Lodekka which was new in November 1954 to the Eastern Counties Omnibus Company as their LKD229. It was one of the first four (LKD227-230) of the newly introduced Lodekka which became ECOC’s standard double decker for the next 14 years. These early models carried a deeper radiator grille.
