Bury St. Edmunds bus station ECOC VR225 (BVG 225T) - March 1985

Bury St. Edmunds bus station ECOC VR225 (BVG 225T) - March 1985
March 1985 - Eastern Counties Omnibus Company VR225 (BVG 225T), an Eastern Coachworks bodied Bristol VR new in October 1978, is seen leaving Bury St. Edmunds bus station on the 1145 service 905 to Honington. Due to there being parked buses at the top of the bus station slope the driver had reversed out into High Baxter Street and was now turning to Brentgovel Street to depart.

The bus station site is now occupied by retail premises including the MacDonalds ‘Restaurant’. The upper floor of the building in the background protruded over the ground level and the overhang where the two cars are parked provided shelter for waiting passengers on wet days. The feature may still be seen today from High Baxter Street.
