Bury St. Edmunds bus station ECOC VR206 and VR240 plus Cambus 720 (ex ECOC VR210) - March 1985
March 1985 – The Eastern Counties Omnibus Company bus station in Brentgovel Street, Bury St. Edmunds stood on the site of what is now retail premises including the MacDonalds ‘Restaurant’. It was very convenient for shoppers and always a busy place on market days (Wednesdays and Saturdays) when additional services operated into town.

In this photograph there are five Eastern Coachworks bodied Bristol VR double deckers but only four belong to ECOC. The bus on the right is now a former ECOC vehicle in the ownership of Cambus. In readiness for privatisation ECOC was split up in September 1984 and Cambus created to assume the Western area of ECOC.

From left to right are ECOC VR206 (XNG 206S), ECOC VR240 (HAH 240V) and Cambus 720 (YNG 210S) which had been new as ECOC VR210.
