Eastern Counties LN568 (PVF 568R) in Bury St.Edmunds - 21 May 1994

Saturday 21 May 1994 – In common with a number of other operators the Eastern Counties Omnibus Company had a number of Leyland Nationals refurbished by East Lancs Coachbuilders as part of the Greenway programme. Note the East Lancs badge beneath the nearside headlight. LN568 (PVF 368R) was originally new in September 1986 and was refurbished in February 1994. It was seen in St. Andrew’s Street North, Bury St. Edmunds a little downhill from the Public Library having arrived on service 85 from Ipswich and Stowmarket. A short time later the class letters of the Greenways changed to LG rather than LN and later still most were re-registered with dateless Northern Ireland series registration numbers. So this bus subsequently became LG568 with registration number NIL 3953.
