Thursday 4 August 2016 (1037) – Whippet Coaches WD432 (LK54 FLB) seen on J J Thompson Avenue on the University of Cambridge estate when working the ‘Universal’ service from Addenbrooke’s Hospital to the Madingley Road Park and Ride site. The service, subsidised by the University of Cambridge with assistance from the North West Cambridge Development, began on 23 July 2016 replacing Stagecoach (Cambus) ‘Uni4’ service. The bus is a Wright Eclipse Gemini bodied Volvo B7TL new in September 2004 new to First Centrewest (London) as their 32496. Whippet is owned by Australian based Transit Systems which also owns Tower Transit in London. In June 2013 Tower Transit acquired First London’s operations, this bus came with the sale and was later transferred to Whippet
