Funghi With Frills!

Funghi With Frills!
Captured at Lydeard Hill, Somerset.

I have not idea what these 'mushrooms' are but I thought they looked quite attractive. They looked almost transluscent in the sunshine. If anyone has an ideas what they might be I would appreciate it.

The closest I could come to a 'Fun -ghi' link was this song sung by some pretty well know 'guys'

Here is 'Fun, Fun, Fun' by Status Quo and the Beach Boys!!

Best vieweed large I think. Thank you.

Thank you very much Markus. Pleased you like it. I have never seen anything like them before, - I thought they looked like upside down parasols.

A terrific capture of these little guys in the long grass, Love the detail and the subtle colours,
Sadly I have no idea of the species !
Hopefully someone will enlighten us !

Thank you very much Malik. They looked so strange, - like tiny umbrellas turned inside out by the wind!

At first glance I thought they were daisies ;-))) I think it's the "parasola plicatilis", commonly known as the "pleated inkcap". The species is generally regarded as inedible though nonpoisonous.

Thank you very much Christa, and many thanks for the id. I really appreciate it.
I have never seen anything like this before - the pleats, the transluscent glow and the fact that they looked like tiny inverted parasols made them look very attractive. Thank you also for the warning - I like mushrooms but will give these a pass;-))

Thank you very much Jocelyne. Christa kindly told me they were 'pleated inkcaps'. I had no idea what they were but liked their fragile transluscent beauty.

Une forme étonnante !
Peut être un "Lactifluus subvellereus" sans aucune certitude.
c'est le seul qui a à peu près la même forme que les tiens mais sans fioriture.

Thank you very much for your comments and suggestion and link Ramon. The stems seem really delicate and not like the thick mushroom stalks I am familiar with. Christa kindly identified them as pleated inkcaps. What captured my attention was the inverted caps making them look like tiny little flowers. Thank you again for the information.

Great detail and interesting fungi, particularly as they seem to have inverted the usual conical top.
