Combwich Wharf (PiP) HFF
Evening light on Combwich Wharf on the River Parrett, Somerset.
Once the site of an ancient ferry crossing the port was used for the export of local goods and import of timber from the 15th Century. The village was the centre for brick and tile making from as long ago as 1842, and it served as the local brick and coal yard until the 1930s when the creek silted up.
The spur of water that served the wharf is known as Combwich Pill and Combwich wharf is currently being used for the delivery of large equipment for use on the Hinkley Point C power station
The PiP shows an historic channel marker buoy at the wharf.
I have added a song by the Grateful Dead, - 'Wharf Rats'

Ecobird club has replied to Christiane ♥.•*¨`*•✿I've never heard this song and I'm really liking it. I remember seeing them in concert back in the 70s. It was a good concert.
I hope you're doing okay there, Carol. I haven't made it into HFF for the last few weeks. Maybe I can make it this week. Have a good week. :)
Ecobird club has replied to Karen's Place clubYes I am fine thank you. I hope you are too. To be honest I haven't been keeping up with ipernity much just lately either. Since I lost my dad last month I am a little short on motivation to be honest. Perhaps it will be easier once we have had the inquest.
Have a good weekend
Karen's Place club has replied to Ecobird clubI haven't been on Ipernity much myself lately so I sure know what you mean. It seems like a lot of people are not posting as much as they use to. It's just a really weird time right now.
I'm not sure I know what you mean by "the inquest."
Ecobird club has replied to Karen's Place clubI hope you are ok Enjoy the rest of your week and take care.
Karen's Place club has replied to Ecobird clubPlease let me know how it goes with the inquest.
