Fortpflanzung bei Azurjungfern - PiPs and note

Bei Libellen ist die Fortpflanzung kompliziert und interessant zugleich. Im Bild ein Kopulationsrad von zwei relativ kleinen Hufeisen-Azurjungfern (Coenagrion puella), das Männchen azurblau, das Weibchen grünlich gefärbt. Vorausgegangen ist eine Verpaarung, wobei das Männchen mit einer Zange am Hinterleibsende das Weibchen am Kopf packt, das Tandem ist entstanden (siehe PiP1), Dann bildet sich das Kopulationsrad, wie im Hauptbild zu sehen, wobei das Weibchen mit seinem Hinterleibsende aus einer Tasche des Männchen Spermazellen aufsaugt. Anschließend erfolgt die Eiablage: Das Kopulationsrad wird aufgelöst, das Männchen hält das Weibchen weiterhin mit seiner Hinterleibszange fest, das Paar ist wieder ein Tandem. Jetzt fliegt das Paar an die Wasseroberfläche und das Weibchen legt Eier unter Wasser an Pflanzenteilen z.B. ab, wobei es vom Männchen geführt wird (s. PiP2). Nach Beendigung der Eiablage lösen sich die beiden Libellen voneinander und fliegen davon. Im Bundesland Bayern ist die Hufeisen-Azurjungfer die zweithäufigste Libelle mit recht geringen Lebensansprüchen. In dragonflies, reproduction is complicated and interesting at the same time. The picture shows a mating wheel of two relatively small azure damselfly (Coenagrion puella), the male azure blue, the female greenish. This is preceded by mating, whereby the male grabs the female by the head with a pincer at the abdomen end, the tandem is created (see PiP1), then the copulation wheel is formed, as can be seen in the main picture, whereby the female with his abdomen end pulls out of a pocket of the male sucks up sperm cells. The eggs are then laid: the copulation wheel is broken, the male continues to hold the female with his abdominal forceps, the pair is again a tandem. Now the pair flies to the surface of the water and the female lays eggs under water on parts of plants, for example, being guided by the male (see PiP2). After the eggs are laid, the two dragonflies separate and fly away.
In the state of Bavaria, the azure damselfly is the second most common dragonfly with fairly low life requirements. It can be recognised by the horseshoe-shaped markings on the second abdominal segment (see note).
