Am 6. Mai 1012, dem Geburtstag von Kaiser Heinrich II, wurde der Dom zu Bamberg in Gegenwart der damaligen fast komplett anwesenden weltkirchlichen Prominenz feierlich eingeweiht. Im Jahr 2012 wurde dieses Ereignis in Bamberg gebührend gefeiert.
Jedes Mal ist es ein erhebendes Erlebnis einen Rundgang durch diesen romanisch-gotischen Dom zu machen, das Kaisergrab, den Veit-Stoß-Altar und den Bamberger Reiter zu bestaunen oder einfach die ruhige Atmosphäre zu genießen. Der Dom gehört zum Weltkulturerbe Bamberger Altstadt.

On May 6, 1012, the birthday of Emperor Heinrich II, the Bamberg Cathedral was solemnly consecrated in the presence of almost all the ecclesiastical celebrities of the time. In 2012 this event was festively celebrated in Bamberg.
