Elevador de La Gordejuela - 3

The industrial complex was built by the trading company „Hamilton“ in the year 1903 as pump house and home of the machinist. It’s also called „Casa Hamilton“. The first steam engine of the Canares was operating there to pump the water of the sweet water springs of Gordejuela to banana plantations in the Orotava valley. The ruins are still visible, but the the former 43 m tall chimney is demolished. 175 steps are leading down to the building. Unfortunately it's not accessable.
