all houses at that level along the waterfront have special flood doors/ windows that can be closed in time. The problem is more with cars parked there and the owner did not watch radio or IT warnings. Could see that day a towing truck bringing out some cars, that otherwise would go down the river with the tide.
The max water level stopped just at the house entrance at Fischmarkt 2a:

Es gab in Folge der "bösen" Sabine insgesamt 5x Hochwasser diesen Ausmaßes an drei aufeinanderfolgenden Tagen (also jew. Abends- und Morgens). So habe ich genug Zeit wieder beim Flut-Tourismus dabeizusein.

Von mir kommt ein fröhliches HFF zur FHH, lieber Volker! Deine Fotos sind erschreckend anzusehen. Ich habe das Hochwasser auch in der Webcam gesehen.

das ist -jedenfalls bei diesem Wasserstand- für Hamburg kein Problem. Die tieferliegenden Gebiete samt Gebäuden sind entsprechend gerüstet (Tür-, Fenster abdichtungen) und die Autofahrer (Parkplätze) werden per Durchsagen gewarnt. Für die Hochwasser-Touris ist das eher ein Spaß, und die Hunde freuen sich über die Abwechslung beim Gassigehen :-)
