Shadow fencing at its best. It has been very sunny here for the last couple of days, with very hard frosts. We've been gardening - pruning and sawing down old roses. At 4 p.m. it has now started to become extremely cold, so we've come into the central heating which we can still afford at the moment.

Thanks a lot, Amelia! We had half a clear and cold day yesterday now it's back to the usual grey and cold, we even had some snowflakes just now...
I too can still afford energy prices and we will also get help from the state but the important thing in Germany is saving on gas so as not to run out. That's why this year I make do with 18°C in the flat (instead of 20 as before), if you wear extra layers it's O.K.:-) Sadly some people still think it's a human right to have 22-23°C ....
