St. Mary's churchyard (PiP)

Thanks a lot, Isabel! I like Whitby with its old houses and steep cliffs. The church and Abbey ruins are on top after a stiff climb up 99 steps.

Thanks very much, Amelia! I can be rather spooky up there, I once "saw" it in sea mist with visibility only a few meters....btw, parts of the cliff crumbled in 2012 and the old graves and bones with it.

Superb perspective along the gravestones Gudrun. I like the B&W version (the black sky with white clouds is great) but I prefer the colour version with the warm tones in the stones and grass.

The main picture is so atmospheric Gudrun. I love the old gravestones, but unfortunately many of them we cannot read now. The colour version gives a totally different mood and is still a beautiful shot.

Herrlich, diese Plätze für die Ewigkeit. So einen Ähnlichen kenne ich in der Bretagne. Wenn ich da an die überfüllten Stadtfriedhöfe denke... Klasse Aufnahmen. In diesem Fall ist die farbige Version mein Fav.

Schönen Dank, Lothar! ich hatte ursprünglich die Farbversion, fand aber sw besser zu Dracula passend;-) Leider bröckeln an der Küste die roten Sandsteinklippen ganz gewaltig, vor ein paar Jahren ist ein Teil des Friedhofs mit abgestürzt und man konnte unten die Knochen aufsammeln...

Danke vielmals, Aschi! In GB bröckeln im Osten und Süden alle die Teile der Küste, die aus Sedimentgestein bestehen, da sind seit dem Mittelalter teilweise ganze Orte verschwunden.

Boarischa Krautmo ^club

sehr schön in SW.
Aber wenn man das farbige länger ansieht, entdeckt man gute Kontraste zwischen den warmen Steinen und dem kalten Himmel, ausgewogene Tonwerte und eine insgesamt friedliche Stimmung.
Farbe ist hier auch gar nicht schlecht.

Dark, brooding and dramatic in black and white Gudrun and the quotation from Bram Stoker's Dracula really sets the mood! The version in colour is very different but also beautiful. Love the blue sky and clouds and view of the sea.
