WHAT HAS HAPPENED? I go away for a few days and come back this afternoon to find chaos in my email box and Ipernity on the brink of closure! When did this happen? When is the site due to close? I think I might put my camera up for sale. :(

We all know how you feel, Amelia! We've had a few more days to get to grips with the announcement but are still in a state of bewilderment.
Someone said, Ipernity had not been profitable and has been trying to avert insolvency since 2015. It seems talks to sell/ find an investor have failed and they have to close down by 31.Jan 17 or shortly after. Many of us have opened an account with Flickr to have a place where we can keep up the community after day x. Sadly there's already the same infighting among users going on as there was on Panoramio. I don't feel a traitor just because I opened an account somewhere else, I just renewed 2 years' subscription here!

At least I might to get a PiP up before this go the way of Panoramio. This is so sad. I too have just renewed a 2 years' subscription. Do they want more people to pay up to join the club, or are they just going to disappoint all the club members and give up? I will look up the English version of the blog tomorrow when I recover!
