Im Nationalpark Bayrischer Wald ist seit den 90er Jahren wieder angesiedelt worden. Es werden keine genauen Zahlen veröffentlicht, denn sowohl der Luchs als auch der Wolf werden immer wieder von irgendwelchen Typen verfolgt und getötet...

Danke, GG! In freier Wildbahn hatte ich leider noch nie das Glück. Es sind wirklich sehr schöne Tiere und in dem Park dort leben sie ziemlich artgerecht, weil sie enorm viel Platz haben.

There is something sad about this image, Gudrun. Nevertheless, at least this lynx is in a large enclosure and is being cared for. Are the animals tempted by 'live food' that they have to hunt down?

Thanks a lot, Amelia! He seems to look sad here but they obviously were quite content... They were tempted with strips of raw horsemeat which the keeper put over branches - they had to jump very high to get it. But their enclosure is so big that they can find live prey too, the fences are no barrier to small animals. We saw a wolf carrying a crow;-)

Thanks, Steve! The Eurasian lynx usually is well camouflaged, people can walk very near and never see it! Lynxes have been reintroduced to Central Europe, hopefully the populations can stabilise.
