Road to Tupiza (PiP)

Viewpoint over Rio Tupiza on RN 14 (1st inset). A bit further on they were working on widening the road- the diversion was through the river bed (see insets). Nowadays the days of gravel are gone- RN 14 is asphalted all the way to the border at Villazón/ La Quiaca.

Der Zaun wirkt sehr stabil, das muss er wohl sein in dieser Gegend. Und endlich kann man sehen, mit welchem Gefährt Du dort unterwegs warst. Sieht nach Abenteuer aus.

Danke, Volker! Die Gefährte waren sehr tauglich und konnten von den Fahrern selber repariert werden (war 2x nötig)- so moderne Kärren mit Elektronik taugen da gar nicht!

So und so ähnlich haben wir mal eine Wüstentour in den Emiraten gemacht. Da die Bergstraßen zum Oman wegen Felssturz nicht befahrbar waren, hat sich der Fahrer dann auf eine Waditour begeben - um seine Ehre zu retten, wie er schmunzelnd sagte...
Das wurde dann zu einem echten Abenteuer...
