Indigenous people have over time adapted to the altitude, they have bigger hearts for more oxygen uptake! Llamas and alpacas also manage well and where there is clear water there are also some green patches of vegetation.

Schönen Dank, Leo! Zumindest auf Fitmess kommt es in der Höhe nicht an, wichtig ist eine langsame Höhenanpassung und viel Coca-Tee:-) Im Gegensatz zu Tibet kommt man im Altiplano in überschaubarer Zeit in tiefere Lagen, also gibt es bei Problemen i.d.R. keine Todesfälle.

Thank you so much, Peter! With the volcanoes it does remind a bit of Iceland and there are also geysirs and fumaroles in the vicinity:-) Only it is about 4000m higher;-)
