When we left England, mid-60s, we didn't have a washing machine, fridge, clothes dryer or dishwasher. I remember as a kid thinking that you must just chuck all the dishes in a clothes dryer-like thing and somehow they had invented a way for them not to break. haha
The Shelburne Museum, which is close to where I live, features special exhibits. Some years ago they converted a small house to a perfect reproduction of a 1950s house - furniture, crockery, wallpaper, the whole thing - and you could hear everyone saying the same sort of thing. "We had that exact china set, we had that same TV!", etc.
Very fun.
There are a number of museums around the UK that have houses and shops recreating different eras. Sometimes they have actually moved whole houses from redevelopment areas and rebuilt them in a replica village. Crich Tramway Museum is one www.tramway.co.uk/explore/village-scene
Blists Hill at Ironbridge is another www.ironbridge.org.uk/explore/blists-hill-victorian-town/#attraction-map
I have been to Ironbridge, but that was before I took many photos, but I haven't been to Crich.
