Blue Tit - Parus caeruleus

Blue Tit - Parus caeruleus
I spotted this Blue Tit - Parus caeruleus - flying to and from this crack in a tree trunk carrying things away and realized that he/she was clearing rubbish in order to make a new home (or maybe clearing rubbish from its new home). It spotted me watching but, after giving me this look, it went about its business quite happily. The Blue Tit is the only bird native to Britain with blue and yellow plumage and can be seen pretty much anywhere. They are very agile little birds and have no problem feeding and moving upside down looking for insects, spiders, small seeds and nuts. They love to visit gardens especially when food is put out for them. This was seen by Carr Mill Dam, St Helens, Merseyside.
