Hemingray-670 glass insulator in service use

Hemingray-670 glass insulator in service use
Noble County, Indiana

A close up shot of a CD 220 Hemingray-670 in service use supporting a single-phase circuit. These used to be so common around rural northern Indiana but are fast being replaced with new upgrades. I've only seen Hemingray-670s on single-phase circuits in northern Indiana.

Here is a wide angle shot of the same pole.

They show up around here and there. I know there used to be a 3-phase line with these, but it's underground now.

Nice find! I wish utilities where I'm at were using glass insulators like that after WWII.
