How cool is this photo! It has such a painterly feel to the top half. I really like that the framing of the window is included.

What made you think to photograph through the window and include the window's bars? You could have come closer and not shown the window at all (I don't think that would have been better, I'm just curious if you thought about it when you were taking the photo).

Christa's comment about "Morning has broken" was spot on. It was 06.30 when I woke up and looked out the window. That light just cried out to be photographed. So before showering or dressing the camera came out! The leaded window panels were included because rather than just having a scenic view I wanted to capture the impression that I'm looking out of the bedroom on the new day. I liked the way they also framed individual elements, the clouds at the top in particular.

That's lovely. I like it when the light calls out to us. I totally understand doing camera first, then starting your morning routine. When the light is there nothing else matters *smile*.
