Great Central Railway Loughborough Leicestershire 19th October 2022

Yesterday was the last day in service for Ivatt 2MT 2-6-0 46521 before withdrawal for overhaul again & Alex the fitter chalked up the smokebox accordingly.

Dave and myself were the rostered crew for the morning turn on the engine and I took this shot in platform 2 before departing with the 11.20 train to Leicester.

Thanks Peter. Not sure but the last Class 2 the group restored took 7 years! I think it's more a case of finding the money to carry out the overhaul.
