The Sunday Challenge: Groen

The Sunday Challenge: Green

Waste from a well-known Dutch beer brewery in the green grass of a small park. The beer brewer uses green as the main colour for their packaging. A deposit on cans will not be introduced until just under a year and a half from now. Until that time many more cans will be flickered away.

It's just carelessness, perhaps strengthened by alcohol

c 'est une bonne idée de photo . La contradiction entre le vert de la nature, et le vert commercial qui fait vendre !

Diederik when we lived in Michigan 14 years ago we had deposits on bottle and cans and what a difference to the landscape it made. Not sure just when they passed that law but it is still in effect. As soon as the cans/bottles were worth something, they didn't get tossed so readily but if they did someone would soon pick it up and take in to get the 5 or 10 cents deposit back. Don't understand the long delay for your starting date?

Since ages we have liberal (right wing) government which is a big fan of self regulation. In this case that didn't work so phase 2 was put into work. Since two weeks there is deposit on smaller bottles and cans will follow in 2023.

We lived in Norway for five years from 2007, and I was very impressed with the refundable deposits on glass bottle, cans and plastic bottles. Here in the UK this hasn't been organized - and we are supposed to be a forward thinking country!

The can deposit has really helped with the litter where I live. Hopefully you will soon have less "green" in the greenery.
