Even more so north of this. Here you've still got glaciated granite bedrock--that changes in a few miles! When we first moved to the Reno area from Washington ca. 1990, I was struck by how quickly the area changes into "Cascades" north of here--and, of course, by the time you get to Lassen it's definitely "Cascades"!
