Walker River, West Fork

Walker River, West Fork
In Wilson Canyon, a water gap where the river crosses the Singatse Range from Smith into Mason Valleys. The West Fork rises in the Sierra Nevada and flows east out into Nevada. It joins the East Fork in Mason Valley and the combined river ends at Walker Lake, a closed-basin lake whose only outlet is evaporation. (I've got an album on it, too.) Nevada State Route 208 also goes thru the canyon, paralleling the river.

Thanks, everyone! Yeah, Pam, it wasn't bad this early in the season, but I suspect it's pretty low now. Unlike the East Walker, there are no dams upstream on the West Walker, so there's no reservoir storage.
