Chewaucan River
South-central Oregon, USA. The Chewaucan, only about 50 miles long, rises in Gearhart Mountain and flows into Lake Abert, a closed-basin lake. It never reaches the sea. This is a remote part of Oregon; the tiny town of Paisley is the only settlement along the river. Map position is approximate because (for whatever reason) the satellite view feature has quit working again. UPDATE: The satellite view has returned, so the position has been corrected. UPDATE2: Turns out "Chewaucan" is pronounced, more or less, SHEE-wah-cahn.
