Little Lake

Little Lake
California, at the very southern end of the Owens Valley. Looking north up Owens Valley; the prominent rounded hill is Red Hill, a classic cinder cone. As is usual with such features, it's surrounded by young basalt flows. The highway barely visible on the slope to the left is US 395. In the Pleistocene, a river from ancestral Owens Lake overflowed thru here to drain into China Lake. It left a now-dry waterfall, Fossil Falls, cutting thru the basalts by Red Hill.

It would be--but the edge of the China Lake Naval Weapons facility is less than a kilometer to the east (right), with no public access! They're no fun at all-- ;)

You wouldn't want to trespass there. They'd react first and ask questions later...
